QuoteLingo — Privacy Policy
Summary
QuoteLingo has no account system and no server of its own. Your favorites and settings never leave your device. The app shows advertising through Google AdMob to stay free, described below.
What the app stores on your device
- Your favorited quotes (a list of IDs), stored locally so you can revisit them.
- Your language and daily notification-time preference, stored locally.
None of the above ever leaves your device. There is no cloud sync, no backend, and no third party with access to it. The app's quote content (English quotes, Korean translations, vocabulary notes) is bundled with the app itself and requires no network access to display.
Notifications
QuoteLingo asks for notification permission to send a daily local reminder with that day's quote, at a time you choose in Settings. This is scheduled entirely on your device — no notification content is sent from or through any server. You can disable this anytime in the app's Settings tab or in iOS Settings.
Home screen widget
If you add the QuoteLingo widget to your home screen, it reads that day's quote from a small amount of data shared locally between the app and the widget on your device (an iOS App Group). This never leaves your device either.
Advertising
QuoteLingo shows banner and occasional interstitial ads, served through Google AdMob, to keep the app free. Depending on your permission (App Tracking Transparency on iOS) and your consent choice (shown on first launch in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), ads may be personalized using an on-device advertising identifier; if you decline, only non-personalized ads are shown. You can review or change your ad consent choice anytime from Settings → Ad Privacy Options. Google's own privacy policy governs how AdMob processes this data: policies.google.com/privacy.

알림
QuoteLingo는 매일 설정한 시간에 그날의 명언을 로컬 알림으로 보내드리기 위해 알림 권한을 요청해요. 이 알림은 전적으로 기기 내에서 예약되며, 어떤 서버에서도 알림 내용을 전송하지 않아요. 앱의 설정 탭이나 iOS 설정에서 언제든 끌 수 있어요.
홈 화면 위젯
QuoteLingo 위젯을 홈 화면에 추가하면, 앱과 위젯이 기기 내에서 공유하는 소량의 데이터(iOS 앱 그룹)를 통해 그날의 명언을 표시해요. 이 데이터 역시 기기 밖으로 나가지 않아요.
광고
QuoteLingo는 앱을 무료로 유지하기 위해 Google AdMob을 통한 배너 및 간헐적 전면 광고를 보여드려요. 권한(iOS 앱 추적 투명성)과 동의 여부(EEA, 영국, 스위스 지역은 최초 실행 시 표시)에 따라 기기 내 광고 식별자를 이용한 맞춤 광고가 표시될 수 있으며, 동의하지 않으면 맞춤 설정되지 않은 광고만 표시돼요. 동의 설정은 언제든 설정 → 광고 개인정보 옵션에서 바꿀 수 있어요. 이 데이터를 AdMob이 어떻게 처리하는지는 Google의 개인정보처리방침을 따릅니다: policies.google.com/privacy.
